Greetings and salutation to all Post and Auxiliary members, tenant and veterans organizations, and Casa Grande Community.
As we enter a new administrative year, I and the elected and appointed officers of Post 1677 want to welcome you as part of the VFW Post 1677 family.
I, aad our leadership team want to emphasize and reiterate our commitment to inclusion, growth and expansion of the Post . This commitment is not as much in the physical dimensions of the Post, as it is to the bonds, fellowship, visibility, participation and integration of not only our internal membership, but to our veterans community, and the extended Casa Grande/Pinal County family as well.
Casa Grande has been our home officially since March 14, 1936,over 90 years, . But in reality the veterans of this town began organizing events and community assistance years before we recieved our official National Charter. We, and our Auxiliary were organized from the sons and daughters of thCasa Grande and this is our home. Hard and true. There are many like like it, but this one is ours! It is my personal goal and promise to expand opportunities of social involvement, service, and community integration
Between our Post and Auxiliary members, are over 650 members strong. Look around the community, and you will find our members in nearly ever cividc and service organization in the town, now city. VFW members and other veterans hold prominent positions in local government, business, and industry.
As commander, I want to thank each and every one for their continued support of the veterans and local community as a whole and encourage you to ocntinue and escalate that involvement in the betterment of this community.
As we enter the season of celebration of the 250th birthday of our nation, I want to emphasize our commitment to service, patriotism, and pride in who we are as Americans, Veterans, and Communiuty members.
Thank you. I look forward to serving and working with all of you over the next year.
Richard Thomas
Commander
